Number of Years in Business: 26 Number of Employees: 14 Location(s) your business has been in, including current address: (1) 126 N. 2nd Street for 5 years, (2) 301 E. Main St. for 11 years, (3) 108 N. 2nd St. for 10 years. Brief history of business: The salon started out with 3 chairs back in 1980 and increased to 6 chairs in 1985. By 1996 Judis had 7 chairs and added a spa in the upstairs area of their current location where services include massage, pedicures and manicures. Memorable moments in your companys history: Over the years, cutting childrens hair and now cutting their childrens hair. I love having a full service all family salon. Best business advice youve received and/or given: Never give up trust in God that things will happen in HIS time. Our second shop became a church after we left. Those walls were very used to prayers. Secret to your success: Ive tried to provide our customers with all their needs and they have thanked me by bringing back their family and other friends. Other information: Our girls range from age 24 to 62. All styles are kept up to date, providing the latest styles in cuts and colors. We have been known to provide pick up and drop off service for our regular weekly customers. Customers now receive a haircut card and with every tenth cut receive a free one. We have given away over 300 haircuts in the last two years! I am very proud of all my girls. They greet their customers with a smile and keep a cheerful atmosphere for all occasions. I have been very blessed to have a great salon family that I can count on to keep things going when I cant be there. Judis has always taken pride in being an active part in the Peotone business district. We donate to many fundraisers whenever asked, Scouts, baseball, football, soccer, high school and grade schools, personal fundraisers when there is a medical crisis for a needy family, local business extravaganzas, veterans, Helping Hands, Miss Teen Sponsorship, Rodeo shows and the list goes on. My point is if you are going to do business here, you need to get involved whenever possible. |
