The Peotone Police Department has implemented the following community policing strategies: Community policing refers a partnership between the police and the people they serve, designed to improve the quality of life. It is expected that the police and citizens of the community will work together to address issues of crime and social disorganization. Officers are urged to get close to the citizens of the community and understand their needs, habits and wishes. Community members are expected to take a proactive role in helping the police and other government entities set and implement community-oriented policing.
